May 2009
I just realized nearly a year and a half has come and gone since I last updated my personal website, and hopefully it won't be another 6 months before I update it again. With finishing a documentary, starting a non-profit, working full-time, and keeping up with Facebook/Myspace/Twitter/Linked In/AliveNotDead, etc I apologize that I haven't had a chance to do anything here. But, if you want to catch up on what I've been up to, look me up on all those sites and check out "Operation Babylift: The Lost Children of Vietnam", which premiered at this year's Vietnamese International Film Festival and was honored with the Audience Choice Award. Also, be a part of a worthy cause and go to ATG Against The Grain Productions.com Chat again soon! January 2008 Happy New Year! Wish you all great blessings for 2008! December 2007 The holidays are here, and 2007 is nearly over. What a fantastic year it's been, from my involvement with Women in Film.Dallas to "Operation Babylift" and my job at AMS Pictures. A lot happened this year, from traveling all over the world, starting a non-profit, and getting more in touch with spiritual growth. Proudly, I can say I met many personal and professional goals. I am really looking forward to what 2008 has in store. Happy Holidays, everyone! November 2007 We recently premiered another new documentary at AMS - "Flying for Freedom: Untold Stories of the Tuskegee Airmen" at the Frontiers of Flight Museum. Southwest Airlines flew in all the Airmen from the film. What a special treat to meet these heroes. We are headed to Miami for Thanksgiving. Taking a little break from editing to enjoy some family time. Happy Turkey Day, everyone! October 2007 Shot a JC Penney "Give a Gift" national spot for the Holidays, which should be coming out after Thanksgiving. AMS premieres our compelling documentary on domestic violence, "Portrait of Abuse: An American Epidemic", at the Facing Family Violence Conference. The film is takes an honest look at the psyche of victims and abusers, showing how we can all help to stop this horrible issue -- I'm really proud of this piece. Operation Babylift is still in post-production. September 2007 Editing like a fool...and celebrated our 3rd Annivesary! My Bank of America campaign comes out nationwide on the web and in stores this month. August 2007 Working hard and in post-production mania. More shoots for Radio Shack and JCP. July 2007 Flew to Denver to shoot more footage of the Vietnam Heritage Camp and screened our trailer to a group of adoptees and parents. Everybody is excited to see the film, as are we! Just accepted the position of Director of Development & Distribution at AMS Production Group, where I'll be heading up their Original Programming division. My Chili's menu print campaign is out nationwide. June 2007 It's official. I was selected to be one of the Presenters for the Monster Diversity Leadership Program, which is a summer conference for some of the country's best college students. I also shot a national print campaign for Bank of America and an industrial for JC Penney. May 2007 Had a busy month. Shot another industrial with Radio Shack. Then we went to Vietnam and Korea for 18 days to continue work on the documentary"Operation Babylift: The Lost Children of Vietnam," shooting more interviews and bringing food and supplies to the children. Thank you to everyone who donated! I also got to go to Seoul with G and his parents. It all was just an amazing experience. April 2007 The documentary work continues as we headed to Washington, D.C. Next month, I'll be in Vietnam and Korea shooting interviews and visiting the orphanages. March 2007 The documentary took us back to Los Angeles, where we got to catch up with old friends and shoot more interviews. It had been a year and half since George and I moved from LA, and it was great seeing everyone and revisiting favorite haunts. The adoptees we met on this trip were all amazing, with incredible stories to share. I still need lots of help with this project, and you can keep tabs by visiting The Babylift website. My other "job", Women in Film/Dallas, is moving right along and keeping things busy. We had several screenings this month, with AFI Dallas also going on. My birthday this year was surrounded by other birthdays, weddings, and engagements, so we kept it low key. It was a tough month, and my awesome pals and family made me feel pretty special. I did manage to get away to Miami for a few days with my mom for a little spa pampering. That's living! February 2007 So far, so good. I am staying busy and healthy. We just booked our tickets for a big trip in May to Vietnam and Korea, our "motherlands." Our parents will host us around each's respective country, so this will be very cool and once in a lifetime experience. We plan to visit the orphanages, learn about the local cuisine, and take lots of great pictures. Can't wait! January 2007 Happy 2007! For my new year's resolution, I've decided that it's time to get what's important in my life back in focus. So, I've officially left the world of repping. Back on the front burner is the documentary, which I'll be working on full force starting NOW. I was also recently nominated and elected to the Board of Directors for Women in Film/Dallas. I'm excited and thrilled at the opportunity of working with and learning from some of Dallas' most creative minds and getting more involved in the local film community. I'm also determined to make health a priority. Exercise, eating better, and thinking positive. Here's to a great start for the new year!
